About Rena Harris:
I have been in the travel industry since 1970. From working with various airlines, hotels and travel agencies in the Los Angeles area, I came home to Oregon. Opened my own agency in Southern Oregon and due to a lot of personal changes, ended up merging the agency with another one in the area and moved to the big city of Portland. Here I worked for an agency specializing in sports and entertainment travel. When that agency sold, I was offered a wonderful position as Manager of the Azumano Portland downtown office.
From this position, I then went on to do various other positions within Azumano travel - Manager of the Tigard branch, Manager of the BigDay Honeymoon Branch and eventually had the opportunity to move to my future retirement home in Bend, Oregon. Azumano Travel has been the best job I have had in my long career and I love the travel industry.
Now I work from my home office with the Portland downtown office as my base. I specialize in several destinations and types of travel. From business travel to vacation travel! From one person to a huge group of over 220 passengers! I am also blessed to be a part of the famous Azumano Adoption team, so if you know someone who is adopting a baby or child from another country - be sure to send them our way!
My area's of expertise are: Alaska (been there almost 50 times, have traveled almost the entire state) Jamaica (been there a lot of times, even got married there) Italy, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, S. Pacific Islands and Micronesia. Hawaii, Mexico and a lot of states in the US.
All in all, I've been to 231 cities in 15 nations so far and I'm not done traveling.
One of my favorite specializations is Destination Weddings and Honeymoons. I am a Prefered Certified Sandals Specialist and last year attended the Elite Sandals Star Awards where they acknowledged the top agents from the US, Canada and United Kingdom. It was quite an honor! I have worked hard and have earned my Certified Travel Counselor and also the Certified Travel Industry Executive designations from the Travel Institute.
So....if your travel needs are anywhere in my expertise, you just let me know, and if not, I can recommend someone who is!

| HALIBUT AND EALGES AND BEARS…OH MY!As we walked along visiting all the shops on the Homer Spit Boardwalk, there was a sign out near the road that offered Bear Watching – Standby for $399….of course the curious part of me had to go to the shop and ask – Standby? Yep – there might be a couple spots left on the next day plane to Brooks River to see the Bears up close and personal…$399? Yep – standby…if you want to confirm – the rates run... |

Alaska - Homer and Fishing
| July 29, 2010 |
| Ahhhh laska!
Those that know me know that I love Alaska! Doesn’t matter what time of the year I go, it’s always breathtaking. My wonderful brother lives in Anchorage and he owns a fishing boat, so the yearly trek up there usually is in summer and usually involves at least some fishing.
This past trip included another short trip to Homer - one of my favorite ports of call! Homer is a about a 5 hour drive from Anchorage, south along Turnagain Arm in the Cook Inlet. Because there... |
